FORKLIFT & TRACTOR CERTIFICATION
Did You Know?
OSHA requires every employee that operates a powered industrial truck (PIT), including a forklift or a tractor, to be trained and certified.
Waterloo Insurance’s in-house Safety Consultant, Rodney Moeller, is certified to provide PIT certifications and trainings for employees using forklifts, tractors, and piggybacks.

Schedule In-Person Training
Rodney will coordinate directly with your business to schedule and in-person training for your employee(s).

The Certification Exam
Each certification exam includes two parts: a written test and an observation.

For forklift certification trainings, there is a classroom and written test with an 80% pass rate, followed by navigating an obstacle course including tight backing, loading and unloading maneuvers.

For tractor and Moffett certification trainings, there is a classroom and written test with an 80% pass rate, followed by navigating course. This observed course includes placing a load on a trailer, unloading the trailer, returning the load to a designated space, and reloading the Moffett back on the trailer.

PIT Certification
The PIT certification is good for a 3-year period.

Conduct Training
Each training process takes approximately 4-5 hours, and costs $200 per student, pass or fail. There must be five or more attendees participating in each training session.

Get Certified
After the operator successfully passes both the written test and obstacle course, they will be certified to operate a powered industrial truck. Once certified, you will be issues a certificate and a certification card that should be carried at all times when operating machinery. Additionally, the HR department will receive the documentation.
